Data use for EBICS client software

Some programs, in particular the programs of the BL Banking family and the BL Transfer Tool or the BL e-Statement, can retrieve the following data from the license server to streamline the configuration: product information (name and icon of the product, license validity transmission date), bank information (bank name and client ID, URL and host ID of the EBICS connection, hash values of the public bank keys), subscriber configuration data (customer ID and user ID of the EBICS connection), EBICS configuration data (default settings of the EBICS version of the EBICS client, default settings of the DS version of the EBICS client, default settings of the first order number of the EBICS client when using EBICS version < 2.5).

The following information is also stored as part of the license management: license code, name and company name of the license payee, email address of the license payee, phone number of the license payee or orderer, email address of the invoice payee or orderer, default version setting of the EBICS client.

To provide the best possible assistance for our customer support, especially in the context of program updates, the programs of the BL Banking family and the BL Transfer Tool and BL e-Statement transmit the following program information in the case of update requests for the first and last request of each version used, including: time stamp, version of the banking client, version of the Java runtime environment, operating system, language settings and, if applicable, database used. In addition, the frequency of update requests per software version is logged.

To enable software maintenance, users can transmit the following data to Business-Logics using the “Send traces to the support” function in the BL Banking programs: bank name, device information (type, system version), EBICS traces, system log entries (filtered for app entries), license code. This information must be actively transmitted by the program user; automatic transmission does not take place.

Using the synchronisation function with the Android or iPhone app, programs of the BL Banking family can transmit the EBICS and license settings to the apps. The following data is transmitted:

  • licence code
  • URL of the EBICS connection
  • host ID of the EBICS connection
  • customer ID of the EBICS connection
  • user ID of the EBICS connection
  • encrypted EBICS keys
  • hash values of the EBICS keys
  • default settings of the EBICS version of the BL Banking Client
  • default settings of the DS version of the BL Banking Client
  • default settings of the order number of the BL Banking Client (for EBICS versions < 2.5)

Furthermore, remote support on the customer’s system is possible at the customer’s express request using the TeamViewer software. TeamViewer is a software by TeamViewer GmbH, Göppingen, Germany, which we use to provide remote services and which must be installed by the customer himself if remote support is desired. When remote services are provided, the user’s screen, including all information displayed on it, is mirrored by our customer service. Therefore, in your own interest, you should make sure to close all programs and ads that are not related to the remote services. Customers should ensure that we do not come into contact with personal data from their environment when providing remote services unless it is necessary for the purpose of remote support.

TeamViewer transmits data via the Internet using an encrypted connection. However, it can never be ruled out with absolute certainty that third parties can view and/or access the transmitted data without authorisation. We recommend taking this into consideration when deciding whether or not to use remote access services. Further information on security and data protection when using TeamViewer is available at https://www.teamviewer.com/en/trust-center/security/.
